Off The Map pays tribute to the London Underground’s disused stations. To commemorate 150 years of the Tube, ten original artworks bring to life their history and their secrets, allowing people to discover the stories behind the Underground’s forgotten stations.
Aldwych (1907 - 1994)
One of the most famous disused stations on the Tube, Aldwych has featured many times in TV, music and movie filming. It originally opened as a double track service but from 1917, due to a lack of demand, a shuttle service was operated. The shuttle crossed the original tracks during its journey to and from Holborn.
Today, the station is is occasionally open to the public for special visits.
